Guadalcanal – Alanís: Circular Sierra Norte – Vega

Introducción

This 26.5 km route links the towns of Alanís and Guadalcanal, passing through the hermitage of Guaditoca (17th century), located in a place of singular beauty where a stop is essential. The section that runs along the Cordel de Las Merinas, separating the provinces of Seville and Badajoz, has very well preserved mountain ecosystems.

 

It is almost 27 km outward and 27 km return for cycling enthusiasts. For this route it is recommended to be equipped with suitable footwear for walking on unpaved terrain, as well as clothing that adapts to the weather conditions that are expected depending on the time of year in which you do it, if it is summer do not forget a hat and sunscreen. Find out about the weather forecast before you set off. Take a map and compass or GPS, as well as a mobile phone with enough battery power in case you need to use it in an emergency. It is also advisable to carry 1.5 litres of water, some food and a basic first aid kit.
