Alanís: Path of the Aguardienteros (Aguardienteros)

Introducción

This circular route, 23.8 km long, consists of three very different parts. Leaving Alanís next to the entrance to the castle, it goes downhill until it reaches the railway tracks, a route through holm oaks and cork oaks, almost entirely covered by trees. A second part of the route goes from the railway tracks to the A-432 road. A second part goes from the railway tracks to the A-432 road, where we cross the El Título estate, an area very clear of trees and almost entirely uphill. The third and last part runs parallel to the Benalija river.

For this route we recommend that you wear suitable footwear for walking on unpaved terrain, as well as clothing that adapts to the weather conditions that are forecast depending on the time of year. If it is summer, don’t forget a hat and sun protection. Find out about the weather forecast before you set off on the route. Take a map and compass or GPS, as well as a mobile phone with enough battery power in case you need to use it in an emergency. It is also advisable to carry 1.5 litres of water, some food and a basic first aid kit.
