The Pilgrimage of Alanís is held in honour of María Auxiliadora, coinciding with the last weekend in May.
On Saturday afternoon the image is carried in procession through the streets of the village accompanied by horsemen and the whole town of Alanís. The procession of María Auxiliadora opens the parade of floats of this typical pilgrimage.
On Sunday it moves to the Parque de San Pedro in procession, carried by young people from Alanís. On arrival, a mass is held in her honour.
If anything differentiated this pilgrimage from others, it was the "carrozas" (floats), which had nothing to do with the typical pilgrimage floats; but that was in another era.
